better everyday life through robotics. Founded in 2016, Nuro is a
leading autonomous technology company with vehicles on road today
in California and Texas. The company's core technology is the Nuro
Driver, an integrated autonomous driving system consisting of
state-of-the-art, AI-first software and custom-built sense and
compute hardware. The first commercial application of the Nuro
Driver is autonomous goods delivery with our custom, electric,
zero-occupant vehicles in partnership with some of the most
recognized brands in the world including Uber and FedEx.About the

teams on one of the main challenges in autonomous driving:
measuring and improving the quality of NuroDriver, the autonomous
driving software. We develop evaluation systems that assess the
safety, compliance, and service quality of NuroDriver to identify
ways we can improve the performance of our ML and robotics
systems. This role can have any of the following forms (or the
combination of any subset):
- High-output Generalist working across infrastructure,
visualizations, and metrics development. Such a role would develop
Robotics and/or Data Pipeline domain knowledge over time to
eventually also perform the functions below.
- Robotics Expert working closely with the ML teams to develop
targeted evaluation algorithms powered by classical robotics (e.g.
3D geometry or prediction algorithms), ML techniques (e.g. reward
modeling), or statistical methods (e.g. hypothesis testing).
- Data Pipeline Expert working on the data pipelines that enable
large scale data simulation and transformations for high velocity
and robust metric computation.About the Work
- Design and deploy algorithms to measure the performance of the
ML models that power our self-driving car's behavior, using
robotics, physics, and machine learning.
- Implement simulation-powered large-scale data pipelines to
continuously measure autonomy performance against safety,
compliance, and service quality requirements.
- Develop user workflows and data visualizations used by ML
engineers for day-to-day development.
- Work cross-functionally with ML and Infrastructure engineers to
set the technical roadmap that will continuously improve and unify
the evaluation frameworks across Nuro.About You
