About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Meat Department Team Lead to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for assisting the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and Develop Team Members: Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members in a manner that sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
• Assist Team Leader: Work with the Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets, and assist with analysis of sales, reports, and labor.
• Store Layout and Merchandising: Develop and maintain creative store layout and product merchandising.
• Inventory Management: Assist the Team Leader with ordering and inventory management.
• Customer Service: Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs, direct Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers, and respond promptly to customer needs and questions.Requirements:
  • 18+ months retail Team Member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.
  • High energy, enthusiastic, and displays an affinity for our products, core values, and company philosophy.
  • Extensive knowledge of meat products.
  • Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.Working Conditions:
    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
    • In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
    • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
