power healthcare!About the RoleThe Platform Engineering Team at
Commure + Athelas supports the entire Engineering organization,
providing the infrastructure to develop, deploy, and operate
software at scale. The team owns cloud infrastructure, developer
operations & experience, reliability engineering, data engineering,
and security.As a Software Engineer, you will play a critical role
in maintaining our multi-cloud architecture using
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), ensuring the scalability and
reliability of our applications, and improving developer operations
from local development to CI/CD, monitoring, and alerting.This role
will also contribute to setting the technical direction of the
company's platform, influencing how and where services are built
and deployed. You'll help foster a culture of continuous
improvement, elevating the reliability and scalability of our
architecture while leveling up the entire engineering
organization.What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable multi-cloud infrastructure
(AWS, GCP) using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Pulumi, or
similar)
- Improve developer experience, including CI/CD automation, build
pipelines, and local development tooling
- Enhance observability through best practices in monitoring,
logging, and alerting
- Collaborate with Security Engineering and the organization to
ensure our systems protect customer data and meet compliance
standards
- Participate in setting technical direction of our engineering
platform and cloud infrastructure
- Mentor and guide other engineers, raising the technical bar
across the organization
- Operate in a high-ownership, fast-paced environment, solving
complex technical challenges at scaleWhat You HaveRequired
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering,
or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in professional software
development
- Expertise with modern cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and
cloud-native architectures
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform,
Pulumi, CloudFormation, or similar)
- Proficiency with Python
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable CI/CD
pipelines
- A track record of delivering multi-week, high-impact
projects
- Ability to collaborate well and help make data-driven
trade-offs
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence
technical decisionsPreferred
- Experience with monolith decomposition and service-oriented
architectures
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration,
and service-oriented architectures (SOA)
- Experience mentoring engineers and leveling up an engineering
organization
- Knowledge of healthcare security and compliance standards
