  • About SEADCSoutheast Asian Development Center's (SEADC) mission is to foster a healthy, thriving, and self-sufficient Southeast Asian American community.Founded in 1977 in San Francisco's Tenderloin District, the Southeast Asian Development Center, formerly Vietnamese Youth Development Center (VYDC), is a nonprofit organization dedicated to lifting children, youth, and families from Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam out of poverty. Our services are structured around providing low income and vulnerable Southeast Asian Americans with basic needs and skills critical to building successful futures. We provide jobs, academic support, language service, health, and wellness, promote cultural resiliency and social guidance.The Project Coordinator for the Southeast Asian Mental Health Initiative (SEAMHI) plays a key role in supporting and executing the initiative's overall operations. This position is responsible for integrating and coordinating the workplans of SEAMHI's three other partner organizations with SEADC's, ensuring cohesive program planning, implementation, and data collection to streamline services and resources for the community.In this role, the Project Coordinator will coordinate the implementation of SEAMHI's goals and deliverables and provide administrative and direct support. The position involves engaging clients in activities aimed at promoting mental health and wellness and making referrals/ service linkages to external and internal programs, services, and community resources as needed.The ideal candidate will be skilled in working with disenfranchised populations, comfortable communicating in group settings, and will have knowledge of the demographics that make up the Southeast Asian community and knowledge of the historical context that impacts their day-to-day life.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDirect Service (60%)
    • Conduct outreach to engage community members on health and wellness topics, raising awareness of relevant resources, including SEADC services in partnership with SEAMHI members.
    • Assess new clients through intake and screening, collecting necessary information and release forms, identifying strengths, needs, and self-selected goals, and referring to appropriate internal or external services with follow-up as needed.
    • Promote wellness and coordinate client services in group and individual settings by facilitating risk-reduction activities and connecting clients to appropriate health and social services.
    • Collaborate with the behavioral health specialist to coordinate wellness activities, presentations, and mental health training.
    • Work collaboratively with and leverage program services to support client's needs.
    • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.Administration (40%)
      • Workplan Implementation: Assist supervisor in executing SEADC's workplan along with the integration of the Cambodian Community Development Inc. (CCDI), Lao Seri Association (LSA), and Vietnamese Family Services (VFS) workplans. This includes coordinating tasks, tracking progress, and ensuring that project milestones are met.
      • Workgroup Facilitation: Organize, schedule, document meeting notes, and arrange meeting locations for the SEAMHI workgroup. Under direction of supervisor, assist with managing program supplies purchases and related expenses from approved budget.
      • Attend grantor, program, and professional development trainings - including the Asian Pacific Islander Health Parity Coalition.
      • Maintain and update accurate client records, ensuring compliance with funder and SEADC requirements. This involves statistics and data collection and entry into systems such as Salesforce and other systems required by the funder or SEADC.
      • Attend outreach and related program events outside of business hours as needed.

        • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field required, OR two years or more of work experience in a similar setting.Required Skills and Experience
          • Knowledge of and competency in Southeast Asian culture and communities.
          • Strong knowledge of services and programs for children, youth, and families in San Francisco.
          • Knowledge and ability to interview and complete screening and assessment of clients.
          • Experience working with at-risk and high-risk individuals, youth, adults, low-income individuals, immigrants, and/or English language learners; knowledge of cultural competency to underserved populations.
          • Excellent judgment and proven ability to independently develop solutions.
          • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with one-on-one and in groups; ability to work within a team.
          • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, performance-oriented environment.
          • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office applications including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
          • Experience with data entry and CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
          • Familiarity with project management platforms and online communications platforms such as Teams.
          • Must have adaptability to adopt new software and technologies and participate in the development of new such systems by providing feedback.
          • Attend external and internal events, trainings, and meetings as needed for the position.
          • Must be flexible with varying schedules and activities during the week.Desired Skills and Experience
            • Bilingual in a Southeast Asian language (Khmer, Lao, Thai or Vietnamese).Additional Qualities and Requirements

              • Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States.Physical Requirements
                • Possesses multi-limb and eye-hand coordination.
                • Able to stand, bend, reach, stoop and lift items up to 25 lbs.
                • Able to work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods of time.
                • Able to sit at desk, work on a computer, and hold meetings via videoconferencing and phones for a full workday.
