The Opportunity
The Content Policy & Communications Director owns defining the messaging, positioning, and policy strategy for the inclusion of content in Adobe Stock, Express, and Firefly. This position leads strategy and operations for the development, education, training, implementation, and communications for contributor experience and moderation policies. This role serves as the chief spokesperson and principal communicator on matters related to contributors and content policy, both within the content organization and across Adobe, and externally, including interactions with the press. The position requires extensive experience in media and communications, content policy development, legal compliance, and partner collaboration, ensuring that content positioning, contributor messaging and policies are clearly understood and successful with audiences.
What you'll Do


  • Define and implement contributor communications strategy in support of participation and engagement with Adobe Stock, Express, and Firefly.
  • Develop a strategic approach to engage contributors and build an understanding of their creative goals, concerns, and opportunities in the AI era.
  • Define the content policy strategy and operating model to establish and evolve processes to support multiple sets of policies in line with business needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, trust and safety, product, content, and data governance on contributor communications and policy development.
  • Function as the lead spokesperson and central communicator on contributor and content policy matters, working within the content organization, cross-organizationally, and externally.
  • Seek feedback from team members and authorities to continuously evaluate and improve how we communicate and engage creatives.
  • Anticipate opportunities and risks in the content safety and regulatory landscape to stay ahead of emerging changes and challenges.
  • Evaluate and handle critical issues, provide authoritative policy analysis and recommendations, communicating positions and updates.
  • Facilitate detailed discussions, incorporating diverse viewpoints and strengthening policy analysis.
  • Mentor and guide team members, encouraging a collaborative and productive work environment.

    What you need to succeed

    • Proven track record in media communications, digital media technology, or content safety policy.
    • Experience defining policy and standards for evaluation of digital media including images, video, audio, and 3D.
    • Experience working with and planning communications for creative networks.
    • Experience crafting communication strategies, drafting and visualizing content policies across numerous topics, geos, and subjects.
    • Deep understanding of commercial content licensing and usage requirements related to IP, trademark and copyright including brand and property restrictions, public domain, creative commons licenses and fair use standards.
    • Strong working experience and understanding of online and generative AI online safety trends and emerging regulations.
    • Experience with scaling policy development, operations, and implementation across multiple business lines.
    • Excellent judgement and critical thinking skills, capable of assessing numerous inputs, weighing tradeoffs, leading ambiguity, and making sophisticated decisions.
    • Exceptional communication, writing and interpersonal skills.
    • Skilled relationship builder with experience working cross-functionally.
    • Shown leadership experience in running projects and mentoring teams.

      Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $157,900 -- $291,400 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.       At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
      In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
