Job Description:
Position SummaryAs a leader in our cloud engineering team, you
will play a crucial role in designing, scaling, and managing cloud
infrastructure and the app stacks for our platform. You will work
closely with cross-functional teams, including developers,
architects, and operations teams, to ensure our infrastructure,
services, and applications are optimized to scale and be resilient.
This role will report to the Head of cloud engineering.About the
role
- Lead a small team of cloud engineers and DBAs. Mentor, coach,
and guide them for success.
- Design and implement scalable and reliable cloud solutions on
GKE and EKS.
- Collaborate with development teams to provide guidance and
support in adopting cloud-native architectures and best
practices.
- Deploy and manage cloud resources, including virtual machines,
containers, and storage systems, to meet application
requirements.
- Develop and automate infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools
like Terraform or Deployment Manager.
- Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines for continuous
integration and deployment of cloud applications.
- Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, including
performance monitoring, log analysis, and incident response.
- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with
data protection and privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with the operations team to define and implement
backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
- Stay updated with the latest developments and advancements in
GKE/EKS services and recommend their adoption when
appropriate.
- Participate in capacity planning, performance optimization, and
cost management activities.
- Understand the critical paths of the application code, contract
dependencies, data layer interactions and should be able to guide
the builders on the scalable architecture. Should be able to debug
(to the code) production issues.About you
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,
or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Started the career as a software developer in Java or
Golang.
- Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer, preferably with a focus
on application scale, resiliency, and optimization.
- In-depth knowledge of GCP services, including Compute Engine,
Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Pub/Sub,
etc.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures,
microservices, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform,
Deployment Manager, or Cloud Deployment Manager.
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g.,
Stackdriver, Prometheus, ELK stack).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot
complex issues in a distributed environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work
effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Prior experience leading a small team as a line manager.Work

for this position is $205,000 - $225,000.Salary is determined by a
combination of factors including location, level, relevant
experience, and skills. The range displayed on each job posting
reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for
the position across all US locations. The compensation package for
