About the roleMuon seeks a talented Spacecraft ADCS engineer to
join our team. The ideal candidate can go both deep and broad
across the control system analysis and design process; with a
"systems mindset" they would be a multiplier when collaborating
with other disciplines to arrive at an elegant, best-fit spacecraft
design.This position can be based in Mountain View, California,
United States or Remote.Responsibilities
- Design and implement guidance & control algorithms in an
embedded C++ environment
- Define requirements for ADCS algorithms; run simulations to
evaluate expected on-orbit performance
- Develop ground-processing algorithms for dynamic tasking of
remote sensing spacecraft
- Guide the development of ground-processing algorithms for
sensor calibration
- Guide the development of an offline geolocation processing
pipeline to unlock optimal pointing knowledge
- Guide the development of ADCS component emulators in Muon's
integrated systems modeling environments
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to validate
hardware systems at both the unit level and spacecraft level
- Design the ADCS verification and validation approach for the
spacecraft and acceptance tests for componentsQualifications
- Software skills in C, C++
- Knowledge of control and optimization theory
- Expertise in common numerical programming environments (Python,
Julia - preferred, MATLAB)
- Familiarity with ADCS design/simulation for spacecraft
systems
- Experience running dynamics simulations for spacecraft
- Excellent communication, presentation, and coordination
skills
- Excited to work in a fast-paced environment with new

- Experience as a systems engineer for spacecraft
- Hands-on experience building test setups for ADCS

- Experience with spacecraft flight operationsSalaryThe salary
range for this role is $100k - $195k and will depend on a
candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience as defined
