R-00133795 Description Leidos is seeking a Project Engineer
experienced in space exploration programs to work on NASA's Human
Health and Performance Contract (HHPC) at the Johnson Space Center
in Houston, TexasThis position provides engineering support for the
development, fabrication, assembly, and testing of hardware for use
on the International Space Station and future exploration programs.
- This position is located at the Johnson Space Center in Houston,
Texas and has the opportunity to work a flexible schedule 1-2 days
per week remoteThe Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in the
execution of projects and delivery of hardware to NASA/JSCThis
position is responsible for requirements development and
verification, parts identification, hardware development and
assembly, testing, certification/delivery, and sustaining
activitiesThe successful candidate will be well-versed in the
quality process for the development and sustainment of controlled
hardware, including the writing of Task Performance Sheets and
dispositioning of Discrepancy ReportsThis role is responsible for
reviewing and understanding engineering drawings as well as
overseeing and participating in hands-on development and
maintenance tasksEffective communication will be a critical skill
in working with the project, other project engineers, technical
support staff, and quality engineering personnelThis position will
require the candidate to multitask in a busy environment, to solve
problems when issues manifest, and keep up with the established
delivery scheduleUS Citizenship or US Permanent Residency and the
ability to successfully obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance
are requiredPrimary Responsibilities: --- Write and disposition
Task Performance Sheets and Discrepancy Reports for controlled
hardware/software units throughout the project life cycle
process--- Review and interpret engineering drawings; provide
initial inputs for development and redlines for updates to
drawings--- Utilize project requirement and verification documents
to develop assembly plans, testing strategies, and produce test
plans, test set-ups, and procedures--- Complete functional
development, certification, acceptance, and interface testing of
the hardware throughout various stages of the project
lifecycleCorrelate test results and complete data analysis as
required in a report format--- Determine how a system should work
and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will
affect outcomes and incorporate the results into system
specifications--- Provide engineering data to maintain Safety
Package records and establish government flight certifications---
Assume ownership of all technical considerations for key elements
of hardwareInterface with purchasing, quality, logistics, other
HHPC stakeholders, and NASA stakeholders--- Perform troubleshooting
on both ground and in-flight systemsDisposition non-compliant
hardware--- Develop and maintain sustaining engineering
plansMinimum Qualifications: --- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
and 10+ years of related experience
--- Prior work with Human Landing System or other NASA/JSC
exploration programs (e.gOrion)
--- Experience with configuration and data management processes and
submitting Change Requests
--- Experience with manufacturing, test, and troubleshooting of
hardware
--- Experience with root cause analysis and failure investigation
Preferred Qualifications: --- BS in Electrical Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical, or Aerospace Engineering---
Prior work experience with NASA/JSC programs--- Laboratory
equipment experience (e.goscilloscope, digital multimeter, power
supplies)

$81,250.00 - $146,875.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is
